Anzac Day Dawn FAQ's
Anzac Day has special significance in Albany as it is purportedly the site of Australia’s first Dawn Service conducted by Padre White.

Albany’s RSL sub-branch with support from the City of Albany will deliver the Dawn and Commemorative Services this year, which will include the traditional Gunfire Breakfast and Troop March.
This year’s commemorations will be completely open to the public with no ticketing requirements to attend the main services.

ROAD CLOSURES
To allow for the full commemorative services to proceed, the City of Albany and RSL Albany wish to advise the following temporary road closures will be in place on Tuesday, 25 April 2023:
Dawn Service
03.00am - 06.30am: Apex Drive will be closed at the Forts Road roundabout.
People who wish to attend the Dawn Service can take the free bus from the AEC from 04.00am - 05.00am.
No pedestrian access is available to the mounts.

Troop March
09.00am - 12.30pm: York St will be closed between Serpentine Rd and the Albany Peace Park.
Grey Street West will be closed from York St to Collie St with a detour in place.
Princess Royal Drive will be closed from Residency Rd to the Albany Entertainment Centre.
Variable message boards will be in place to advise road users of the closure on Princess Royal Drive
