This exhibition outlines the RSL’s history in Western Australia and its role in the community. It focuses on the themes of commemoration, defence, and repatriation and is a result of a three year project known as the RSL Living History Project. This involved visiting sub branches throughout Western Australia, gathering photographs and stories on the role of the RSL within the local community. This content was developed into an interactive online exhibition, and complements the physical exhibition by mapping the many sub branches of the League across the State and providing details of RSL community activities.
Learn more about the RSL in your community, the recognition of ANZAC Day, the battle against Communism, and the establishment of the iconic State War Memorial.
This exhibition is proudly presented by RSL, Government of Western Australia, State Library of Western Australia and Lotterywest. Additional support by the National Anzac Centre and the Princess Royal Fortress.
